Tech Honors Top in the Shop and is Awarded Education Grants

Meadville, PA -January 2010

The Annual Blue Collar Bash was held on January 23, 2010 at the Meadville Elks Lodge and was hosted by the National Tooling & Machining Association of Northwestern Pennsylvania. The event is held annual in January to honor outstanding local individuals in the tool and die industry.

"It's a party to acknowledge everyone that works in the industry," said Tami Adams, executive director for NTMA of NWPA.

Throughout 2009, local tool shops nominated some of their employees as "Top in the Shop". The employees were showcased in the Meadville Tribune and were entered into drawing at the Blue Collar Bash to win prizes and educational training dollars.

Tech Molded Plastics' had two nominees for Top in the Shop in 2009, Chris McHale and Steve Coon. McHale and Coon accepted two education training grants on behalf of Tech Molded Plastics. Tech won both the grand prize of $500 and the second prize for $250. Laser Tool & PLastics of Saegertown won the additional $250 prize.

Training grant dollars were provided by The Meadville Tribune and can be used at Precision Manufacturing Institue or Edinboro University or whatever the company chooses for the future training of their employees.

Other evening events included the rock band Necessary Experience, games, raffles food and Top in the Shop nominees receiving personally engraved Channellock pliers.
